During the meeting, two main points were discussed: the minimum wage and collective agreements, with the ESEE expressing its positions to be taken into account for the final draft law. The Minister stressed the importance of strengthening collective bargaining and ensuring a stable investment environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Axis 1: Minimum wage<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Scientific Committee's conclusion on a mathematical formula for setting the minimum wage, taking into account transparent economic data such as inflation and the productivity of the economy, was discussed. This proposal aims to protect the purchasing power of low incomes, provide stability for family planning and maintain investor confidence. At the same time, the involvement of the social partners in the process enhances the credibility of the country's economic policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Axis 2: Collective Labour Agreements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the European directive, Member States are required to create a framework to facilitate collective bargaining. The ministry is seeking to increase the coverage of workers by collective agreements, which will strengthen workers' rights and promote sustainable business development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Minister said that the productive dialogue with the social partners will continue, with the aim of formulating a bill that will ensure a fair balance between the rights of workers and the needs of the business community. This dialogue is a crucial step in the transposition of the European directive, strengthening cooperation and consultation between the government and the social partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participants and next steps<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting was attended by representatives of ESEE, such as its president George Karanikas and the head of the Prime Minister's Economic Office, Alexis Patelis. The Minister has already held similar meetings with the GSEE and GSEBEE, while further consultations with other social partners, such as SETE and SBE, are expected.
