The first month of 2026 started with a new all-time high in debt settlements through the out-of-court mechanism platform, as a total of \u20ac773 million was settled in January. This amount exceeds the previous record set in June 2025 by \u20ac113 million, which highlights the increased participation of debtors and the effectiveness of the tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2,554 new arrangements were completed in January. Since the launch of the out-of-court settlement mechanism, a total of 53,307 settlements have been made to date, corresponding to initial debts of \u20ac16.53 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most of the regulations, 68.6%, concern natural persons and traders, while a significant part relates to social protection measures for vulnerable households and people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The participation of financially vulnerable debtors is particularly encouraging. In January alone, 274 arrangements for vulnerable households were completed, of which 37 were for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, since the launch of the mechanism, 440 debtors have succeeded in suspending enforcement measures, ensuring protection of their property and their main residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Positive momentum is also recorded in bilateral loan arrangements with the four largest servicers in the market. In December 2025, arrangements totalling EUR 442 million were made for 5,522 debtors, compared to EUR 412 million in the same month of the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Evidence shows that cooperation between debtors and loan management companies is strengthening, leading to more viable debt settlement solutions.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
